Structure of the Group
On 6th December 2007 the Brazilian group JBS SA, the largest beef producer in the world, and Cremonini Spa, one of the main European operators in the beef production and processing sector, signed an alliance which gave JBS SA a 50% share of the entire production sector of the Cremonini Group (Inalca Spa and Montana Alimentari Spa, entirely controlled companies), through an increase in capital in Inalca Spa (a company controlled 100% by Cremonini Spa) and which aimes to develop the production sector on an international scale.

The alliance aims to create significant synergies in terms of product and sales channels between the two operators - Cremonini Spa and JBS SA - leaders of their respective markets: JBS SA is present with production/distribution plants on the markets of America (North and South) and Australia, while Cremonini Spa, through Inalca Spa, is present in Europe, Russia and Africa.
With a consolidated turnover in the first 9 months of 2007 of 7,5 billion real (R$) and more than 40,000 employees, JBS SA is currently the largest producer and exporter of meat in the world. With a daily slaughtering capacity of 51,800 heads of cattle, it is the most important exporter of processed meats at global level. The structure of the company includes: 23 plants in Brazil, 6 in Argentina, 8 in the USA and 4 in Australia. Moreover, JBS SA is he third largest American producer of pork meats with a slaughtering capacity of 47,900 animals per day. Its brands "Friboi", "Swift", "Maturatta", "CabaƱa las Lillas", "Friboi Organic Beef", "Anglo", "Mouran" and "Plata", are universally recognized as symbols of quality.
With more than 7,600 employees, Cremonini Spa is one of the most important food groups in Europe, and operates in three business areas: production, distribution and catering.
With total revenues of 2,482.40 million Euros in 2007, the Group is leader in the production of beef and meat-based processed products, charcuterie and snacks (Montana) and in the sales and distribution of food products to the food service industries (Marr). It also has an important position in the catering sector, and in particular it is leader in Europe in railway on-board catering and Italian leader in catering in railway stations, in airports and motorway service stations (Chef Express).
